Power of a Dream

July 14, 2009

May I share an inspirational story?

It as been 12 months since launching Donella Lloyd International(TM). As I reflect, so much has happened since I made the DECISION and took ACTION to register my dream as a legal entity.

So I stepped out in faith and began to create, with the help of others, a sound foundation. Many “Firsts” happened in 2008 - website, speaking engagement, made first pair of shoes, attended World Shoe Show, and workshops, all while still consulting in the corporate world.

In 2009, I closed the door to corporate consulting and opened another. I’ve re-launched DonellaLloyd.com as a fully functional website, invested heavily in myself learning from industry experts, and finalized first round investor funding. I’ve learned and experienced so much!

Now, before moving into massive action this fall, and an extensive travel schedule, I would like to share with YOU some of the insight learned over the past year including the POWER of a DREAM.

On July 23rd at 5pm Pacific time, I’ll host a 60 minute complimentary call where I will share details of my journey over the past year and steps YOU can take to attract what YOU want into your life and business.

Visit Donella Lloyd to sign up for the call.

How to Attract More of What You Want in Business and Life with

The Power of a DREAM

On this call I will share:

  • The ONE pivotal DECISION that has created the momentum and opened many doors over the past 12 months
  • The KEY to rapid personal and professional growth
  • How I used COLOR to Set the Stage to attract success
  • And much, much more
  • PLUS a special gift

Join me for this Powerful Call to gain new insight and rarely discussed secrets to attract what YOU want!

I’ve also made the DECISION to discontinue offering half day one-on-one personal consulations as of August 31, 2009. A total of 18 VIP, personalized half day consultations are available in August, even a multi pay option for the VIP Personal Power Package.

To your joy, health and success,

Cindy

p.s. I would be honored to share my expertise with YOU personally before focusing all my attention on the launch of the collection.

I learned quite some time ago, two people can have a profoundly different perspective on life. The two people I gained most insight from looked at every situation differently, one from the perspective of ‘the cup is half full’ and the other from ‘the cup is half empty’.As a teenager, I worked with my Dad and was often given the responsibility to pick up and deliver parts and supplies in emergency situations. Doing this was a must to keep the business moving forward. On one particular occasion, a barrel of oil was needed by the crew and the supplier delivery was impossible.

This may sound like a strange thing for a teenage girl to be doing, but my Dad was a Contractor who often asked me to take care of the unexpected situations such as this.

So I picked up the barrel of oil from our supplier, made a few other important stops and arrived at the job site to find everyone had left for the day! No one was on site to help me unload this drum of oil. I knew the crew needed to oil at 5:00am to start the ‘magical dance of heavy equipment’. I also knew with other obligations I would not be able to return in the morning. I looked around at what I had to work with in that moment…

I twisted and turned the barrel and little by little, I managed to get it to the edge of the pickup’s tailgate. How was I going to get it from the tailgate to the ground? My fear was if the barrel dropped off the back of the truck, it would burst open when it hit the ground. I weighed my options and dropping the barrel was the only option I saw, and I took a chance it would remain in one piece.

My solution: Face my fear. After contemplating the options, I jumped into the driver’s seat, punced the gas, slammed on the brake pedal and hoped the momentum propelled the barrel out of the truck bed and onto the ground. When I got out and saw the barrel on the ground with only a dent, I jumped up and down. I had achieved my goal and the crew had their barrel of oil for the morning.

When I saw my Dad the next day he mentioned the barrel had a dent and asked what happened. I shared my story with him and he smiled from ear to ear. When I shared my story with Mom, she commented on not getting our deposit back on the barrel since it was dented.

Is your cup half full or half empty? Which scenario ending feels better to you? As entrepreneurs it is essential to look at every situation’s positive impact, no matter how devastating it may appear. Ask yourself from a positive, ‘my cup is half full’ perspective, “How can I do this?” and “What can I learn from this?”

Every situation is an opportunity to learn. Failure is nothing if you do not learn from the experience. Life is an adventure, so go out and enjoy all it has to offer. Today is no exception - take that step!

Manifested London

June 9, 2009

London, such a beautiful city filled with history, diversity, a love for soccer and the local pub!

I just returned from London where Donella Lloyd International(TM) moved closer to launching a line of fun, feminine, foot-pampering stilettos to the world. By focusing on what I really want, listening to guidance and taking action I was able to fly across the Atlantic and meet with two footwear experts dedicated to teaching the art footwear design and manufacturing. I spent several days gleaning from their expertise in a small basement studio below a tiny retail store. A genuine “win-win” alliance was born. My instructor has a collection of men’s footwear with a desire to reach markets in the United States. I have the fun, feminine, foot-pampering stilettos collection and Donella Lloyd accessories line.

Proof positive that following my focus, listening to guidance and taking actions manifests global connections, more passion and my true essence projecting true power into the world. I feel unstoppable!

Do you wonder how you can manifest your dreams into reality? Here are three tips to attract and manifest what you truly want:

  • Focus ONLY on what you want. Do not allow your mind to dwell on thoughts of lack, what you don’t want or don’t feel you have. Take a step back from technology and sit down with pen and paper. Write down your dream and be specific in your end result. FOCUS on your dream, not the ‘how’ everyday! As your awareness and focus increases, guidance will follow.
  • Listen for Guidance. Messages will arrive whether delivery is visual, auditory, inner knowing or feeling. For me this usually happens between 3 and 4 o’clock in the morning, as I awake in the morning, during a nature expedition or in the shower! Wherever your spirit best communicates with you, take note. Listen to what you receive and jot down your next steps - the logical brain may forget.
  • Take Action! Even if it feels as if there is no benefit to the action at the moment, act. Your spirit knows what is next for you and will only guide you what you need to know right now. Have faith and trust that the “how” will present itself.

Guidance is calm, yet firm and clear on what your next action is. If you resist, guidance will persist, but only until you act upon it or you shut it out. Remember, you only receive the information you need at the moment you need it most. And as you continue to act upon your focus with the guidance you receive, you speed up the process of manifesting your dream into your reality.

Focus…Listen…Act!

Journey to a Dream

May 28, 2009

While in Los Angeles, after attending the two day intensive with David Neagle, I decided to spend some time at The Getty Center. I’d been there before and walked the beautiful gardens but this time I saw things in a much different way.

The garden is actually a metaphor, a visual representation of the journey toward a dream to inspire you to move forward, even if you feel like retreating, stopping, or giving up.

Follow these tips inspired by my visit to the Getty Center Garden to help you navigate your journey with confidence!

1. The path will never be as you imagine it to be.
Often we decide we want to have, be or do something and make a plan or at the very least have some idea how it will happen. When plan doesn’t happen the way we expect, we assume we made a mistake. This is not the truth. The truth is, the path has changed direction. Most of the time the path will NOT be what you expect at the beginning of the journey. Don’t get discouraged; you have not made a mistake. The most important action to take at this point is to keep moving forward.

2. The path will never be a direct route.
Even with lots of planning the route of your journey will not be direct. The process often feels like you move forward, stop, assess, and correct, only to begin to move forward again…and this feels as if it happens over and over. The process can be ackward and trick you into retreating.
path

Just remember with each step you take, you move closer to the goal. The obstacles will diminish and the flow will speed up. Keep in mind too, if you retreat and feel “stuck” you are meant to move forward again, possibly in a new direction. Each time you feel off course an opportunity to refine your goal and move forward with more focus has presented itself.

3. More clarity removes more obstacles.
As you gain more clarity of the desire in your heart, obstacles in your path are removed. Consider this, you want to travel outside the United States, yet you are not specific as to the location you want to visit. Your desire remains just a desire. It cannot be brought into your reality until you decide on the location and take action to get there, possibly just by booking a flight.

Without DECISION and ACTION you would not be able get past the obstacle.
4. The journey will get easier.
As you become clear and focuses on your purpose, you will release the fears keeping you stuck. The retreat behavior will diminish, the streams begin to flow more quickly as you move through and past obstacles in the path.

Just as boulders and rocks keep water from flowing, our own personal fears and lack of awareness keep us from moving quickly toward our goals.

4. Keep moving forward, no matter what happens.
To turn back will stop your progress and the momentum you have built up to this point. The further you step outside your comfort zone the more uncomfortable you will become. This doesn’t mean you should retract, but become aware that what ever you are doing is most likely pushing against your deepest fear. This is actually an opportunity for you, a challenge to break through your own fears because fear is just an illusion anyway, right?

Entrepreneurs face the same fears anyone else does, WE just DECIDE to push through and keep going. We do not allow fear to stop the journey.

6. BIG Breakdown, before BIG breakthrough
Most often when you feel the greatest despair that things couldn’t get any worse, you are about to break through into the flow of something BIG. You may not see it because you feel awful, as though you may not be able to take any more, and ready to give up, yet this is the point in your journey where you are poised for the BIG breakthrough into the flow toward your goal.

Be aware and open to allowing your BIG Breakdown so you can experience your next BIG Breakthrough!

7. Thrive, not just survive.
Your journey will constantly change and bring new opportunities. To Thrive and not just survive, you must be ready to face the challenges, to step into your purpose and passion by stepping through your fear. Eleanor Roosevelt said this best, when she said, ‘You must do that which you think you cannot do.’
